Why do I want to get married?
I am so sick of this question being asked in a way that slights my lifelong dream. I feel the institution of marriage is a God given institution that should be looked upon as a gift to His children. On that note, here’s my thoughts on the matter!!!
Why Do I want to get married?
Here are my reasons…Selfish and Selfless alike!
1. To begin a family, and try out all those things I feel would make a good family that I have learned over the years.
2. To have someone to pour myself into. I want his dreams to be mine and ours.
3. To make a little army for the Lord.
4. To be able to show all those young people looking at me that the Cinderella story can come true if you stay faithful to the Lords ways. And to try to be the example that so many are failing in. I want to have young people look at my life and love story and have hope that they to will be able to stay in the Lord and still be satisfied in whatever phase of life God has them in at the time. Be it singleness, or marriage.
5. To be able to look at someone and say I waited and mean it!!!
6. To be able to run a house LIKE I WOULD LIKE! My Mom is ready for laundry to be done the way she would like it
7. To have a little one in my arms, and when someone compliments me on “ my “ baby, it ACTUALLY WOULD BE
8. To have more hearts turned towards the Lord and thereby more missionaries in a sadly needing world.( as in my children and theirs! )
9. To love someone like I have never loved before. To want to be with them and strengthen them. To encourage them in whatever they choose to accomplish. To be the backbone and stand back fully pleased when they alone get the credit!
10. To be recognized as “mrs. Soandso”:P
11. To be able to look at someone and say my career is my hubby!
12. To know what it’s like to be loved for who I am. To know that someone noticed me dancing in the rain. To know what I am thinking and share in my joke. To be protective of me and cherish me…and bring me a flower once in a while:P To sing along to the same song. To hold his hand and know it means forever.
13. To have another victim for my camera:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P
These may be extremely silly reasons to all of you, but tonight, I decided I just didn’t care! I wanted to see some of this on paper. There are a ton more reasons I suppose, but these were the ones on the top. !!!
In the bible, marriage is looked upon as a good thing. Whosoever findeth a wife findeth a good thing…It wasn’t good for Adam to be alone… So why is it so looked down upon now? Why is it normal for someone to be looked upon as coocoo if that’s their life long dream?
I have to laugh when I have people ask me what I had wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted three things!!
1. To be a wife and mother
2. To be a nurse of sorts
3. To be a cashier
(What can I say, I like to play with money…I still love cash registers…I think they are the coolest invention..They hold as much fascination for me as a cemetery!!! )
So far, I have accomplished only one…The cashier…And it is really only for a week once a year, and I don’t even have the register!!! But I know that if God gives me the green light, the others will eventually come to pass.
Why on here do I put my thoughts, I am sure several of you are wondering..Well, I enjoy getting others opinions, and generally when i write something, you all tell me what you think regardless if I want to hear it or not:) I welcome thoughts:)
And why tonight? Well, as I was finishing up assisting a photographer tonight, he made the comment that he wanted me to help with a wedding, and get more experience in that area. I told him I would rather be in it
After he gave me that pathetic look that I get ALOT:) it just kinda got my to thinking:) And I am sure that the comments about Bryce and Heather ( YEAH:):):):) SO excited for you both!!! )being so young, didn't help my state of mind!
So, there it is in black and white what exactly I think about the whole deal. If you really read all this, all to you!:) That proves you love me a little, to think I wrote something worth reading:P
To all insane people that read my stuff, a fond farewell:)
Yours truly,
Jess
( P.S...Just to aviod questioning of any kind...I am not looking for someone...That's in the Lord's hands...But I feel it's wrong how people are slighting marriage when so short a time ago it was considered ludacrist if you didn't marry and now it's looked down upon! I will now retire off my soapbox! )
